  • diemunkiesdie, on 11/02/2008, -2/+5This was a great game, I was really hoping that with all the penalties that TT had (for the fans storming), UT would be able to return the punt for a TD and send the game into overtime! That would have been a real rollercoaster of emotions! At one point a UT player almost caught a tipped pass (around 10 seconds left) and ended the game. I knew UT was leaving too much time on the clock! Someone needs a lecture in time management! Great game either way!

      If Texas would have gotten a TD on the return, would they have been allowed an extra point attempt even though time would have been expired (since no time is taken off the clock for PATs?)

      Because if that's the case, there would have been no overtime. But I'm unclear on the rulings here.

I mean, there's no hope for a championship game (even if Bama and Penn State miraculously lose one too) because they won't let us have another shot.... but as far as performance goes, I am thoroughly impressed with the team.

The rub is that either Alabama or Florida will probably win out, especially if Alabama beats LSU this week. Best case for UT is that LSU beats Bama and Bama beats Florida, TTech loses and USC falls somewhere if they get ahead of UT in the BCS. Penn State probably won't lose.

I hear that 3000-4000 students got turned away. As a graduating senor I was so lucky to make it to that game!

    OH and Matthew Mcconaughey was on the sidelines of the UT team, I dont know if they announced that on TV but we saw him. Although it was so damn annoying having all the girls swoon over him. The wanted to watch him more then the game. But hell it is Lubbock so well forgive them for the blunder.
