I don't find him that funny, but my 5 year old has been killing himself laughing whenever that thing comes on since at least two years old. I had a 3D-World with Scrat on the front I had just purchased, and all I had to do was show him the cover and he'd just start laughing at it. One of those things that's more fun to watch your kids watching (like America's Funniest Videos)

- lpoql, on 11/25/2008, -0/+0Sequels have their place. Who doesn't like to see their favorite characters in another adventure granted its done well? The thing Pixar has going for it is that it balances its sequels with originals, just look at Ratatouille, walle and Up coming out in the summer. I don't mind a sequel as long as they have something else to offer. That said, i'm still looking forward to seeing this, ice age is solidly mildly entertaining.

Just relax, you're the only one who feels uncomfortable. Kids will just enjoy the show.
You think kids don't have any feelings of this sort towards some good looking classmate or even kindergarten-mate... hell even towards some teacher when they are only ~10 years old? Or even younger actually.
I, for example, got my first kiss when I was like 5-6 years old and I turned out to be a pretty much okay guy.
Kids can relate to this kind of mating rituals just as well as you can and they won't have a dysfunctional future because of it.

So therefore it's only logical that it finds its way to show-business as well.
I'm serious, they understand it. They might not know every details about sex, but they can definitely relate to the connection between these two animals. They have felt it with their friends and they often dream about having this romantic connection with somebody special to them. Not hoping to have brutal anal sex with the person they have the crush on, but still feeling the need to share something with the people they care about.
By the way it's official documented fact, that some kids start to masturbate when they are 7-8 years old.
I mean, I know it seems really messed up and kids should be enjoying their childhood, but the fact is, when they see 2 squirrels holding hands, they will think about holding hands with somebody they know and it's not anything abnormal.
Hmm.. but yeah actually you have a good point, I mean we know it's normal and everything, but why push it into kids' movies? Does it bring in so much money? Probably yes. But how? My guess is, it makes the kids see the movie as something more than just a children movie and since they can understand it, they can also connect to it, which makes them like the movie more.
