- PeteDavis, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1How to appear on 'Idol' without leaving home
- hmalhi93, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1This should bring in a different sort of crowd to YouTube then.
Not many Carnegie Hall performers on YouTube right now.- DangQuesadilla, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1There's a few. Valentina Lisitsa for example. She has created a following on youtube and landed lots of good concert engagements.
- rootsm3, on 12/02/2008, -0/+12Practice, practice, practice
- 8bitflu, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2YouTube, YouTube, YouTube.

- okyourturn, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2I always feel smarter when I listen to classical music.
- cbabraham, on 12/02/2008, -5/+1Digg, should I register for the nytimes so i can actually read this? I can't decide.
- okyourturn, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6I'm not registered and I can read it.
- cbabraham, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1That doesn't really answer my question, i'm not crazy it requires registration.
- darkfate, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Some people have trouble reading it. I signed up for an account...it's free to sign up, so why not? They don't send stuff unless you explicitly sign up for the newsletters (which I do because it's interesting). Also, when you register, you don't have to deal with ads.
- okyourturn, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6I'm not registered and I can read it.
- DangQuesadilla, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2This is the coolest thing in the world. I can't wait to see the final product. If you want to see a high level classical musician who is already famous on youtube, check out Valentina Lisitsa. She has become known through youtube and has landed lots of good concert engagements.
- buckbova1, on 12/02/2008, -2/+1How do i get to Carnegie Deli, cause I can use some pastrami?
- shufan, on 12/02/2008, -1/+4This is genius.
- npsken, on 12/02/2008, -0/+7I've played at Carnegie Hall before (our school won gold at a couple festivals).
This is nothing constructive, I just felt like bragging...- 8bitflu, on 12/02/2008, -2/+1That's bragging huh?
- Coven, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5To the former band and orchestra geeks on Digg, yes...it is bragging.
- Aurabolt, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4As did I... Greater Buffalo Youth Orchestra, 2006! Pretty incredible stuff.
Unfortunately, my geek college orchestra was nothing compared to that one =(- Amadeus2490, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2Well, you get nothing except bragging rights for playing there, so you may as well use them.
- 8bitflu, on 12/02/2008, -2/+1That's bragging huh?
- Sagard, on 12/02/2008, -2/+1This is a terrible idea, given the sound lag.
- lucutus, on 12/02/2008, -4/+1I for one am sick of the NY Times required registration.
- InfernoX, on 12/02/2008, -0/+6Finally, someone using the internet for it's original purpose and not to just post pictures with "FAIL" stamped on them.
- area5x1, on 12/02/2008, -2/+2I was just watching a professional keyboardist on YouTube!

He is so amazing! - deadapostle, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2I've played Carnegie more than 30 times, but that was 10 years ago. I'm just a bass player, but this would be an awesome opportunity for me to get back into it. Let's see how much balls I have. I've got to January 28th to submit.
- remo2012, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1This dude got in that way!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzEGwUhJuHg - georgemason01, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1"How do you get to Carnegie Hall? In a body bag if you don't drop that."
"That's doubtful kid. Real doubtful..." - mynameisjudge, on 12/02/2008, -0/+0This is very interesting. But I think it can only be used for initial auditions. You must still have live auditions to see how they perform under pressure--ie in front of live audience, because that is the point of music performance. You also can't test sight reading over the internet...
- WShawcross, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Very cool idea, I'll be very interested in how it turns out. Go MTT!
