- bromac, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4Hint: many people in BC live rurally for just that, there isn't anything else, or anyone else, there.
- Sornos, on 11/20/2008, -0/+9Wait, what? She's from Comox? I grew up there! I knew she was from BC, but not from my home town. Then again, this changes nothing.
- DarthDiabetes, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3Little known fact: Corrections Canada has re-located more convicted sex offenders per capita to the Comox Valley after their release from prison than any other jurisdiction in Canada. Coincidence?
- bromac, on 11/20/2008, -2/+27Of course she is. We can't totally legalize it here until the US does, since they'll scream bloody murder over it.
And in return, the US is the primary route of cocaine into Canada and BC. They trade it straight across, weight for weight, for pot. This gives the criminal organizations 200% profit for the pot they move in the states, and a whopping 400% profit for the cocaine they move in Canada.
Your War on Drugs is bringing more drugs than ever into my country, the more harmful ones at that, and finances all sorts of other criminal activity. So yes, legalize it, so we don't have to deal with all the ***** that the cocaine trade brings with it.
And the Yankees blame BC for flooding the continent with good bud? I thought my jokes were bad...- vern59, on 11/20/2008, -0/+7Bromac knows whats up, and that is exactly how it goes down. I love how the U.S. is attempting to extradite Marc Emery for selling pot seeds on the internet, when it should really be the corrupt U.S. officials that are bringing cocaine into the U.S. going to jail. Why does everything have to be so ***** up, why can't there be some rational thought patterns applied to drug policy?

I think it was written fairly well and she has some points I agree with. Regardless of whether you like her or not, support from publically known figures can only help these causes.
· Free Leonard Peltier (didn't know about this, but from my wikipedia reading there might be a case for him)
· Reduce the prison population/reform the justice system. (No more prison planet? Increase capital Punishment?)
· Castrate pedophiles for sexual offenses and for creation/consumption of kiddy porn (take away their weapon against children: their sexual drive. Borders on eugenics?)
· Legalize marijuana and hemp and regulate the industry to revitalize the economy (Win)
· Bring the troops back home. Cooperate with others to maintain global security (Win)
· Stop animal cruelty in experiments (Stop cruelty? Yes. No animal testing altogether? I can't agree on that.)
· Public healthcare (Win)
· Promote vegetarianism (Or lab grown meat ftw? I mean most of our meat now is corn anyway right?)
· Shutdown Guantanamo Bay and Stop the practice of Torture (Yes, use mind reading tech instead to get intel :) )
· Wage taxes for immigrant workers. (Win)

Win-win!
- Issius, on 11/20/2008, -0/+3Seriously. Did anyone else find it annoying that she (or whoever wrote it) is so against punctuation? There's a time and a place for a hyphen...
And the random question marks also kind of bothered me. If you want to be taken seriously, some elementary understanding of the written language is generally a requirement.- jraymilton, on 11/20/2008, -0/+2This is the nasty effect being that uber-hot (and she was...) can have on elementary education. Now that she's getting older, it's not that cute, ESPECIALLY since I agree with the gist of what she's saying. Pam, learn from Paris in that little commercial she did, and let someone ELSE handle the keyboard.
- cougar3429, on 11/20/2008, -0/+0and my gist agrees with her too...
- TheNik, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1I assumed the poor grammar was fault of the Chinese-based website, but she really does write poorly. http://www.pamelachannel.com/channel/2008/11/18/re ...
I don't understand how anyone that's graduated high school can speak so poorly (and I mean a universal "anyone," not targeting her specifically). Shirley English must have really helped me grasp these concepts in fourth grade!- jraymilton, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1In order to graduate high school with that little of an education, one must be that-hot looking. I've seen photos of her when Pam was "discovered" in a football crowd, and believe me, looking like that she could get away with ANYTHING up to and possibly including murder. Not knowing ***** about English was no problem. The only problem is, education lasts & hot doesn't.

Recommended reading to Mr. President Elect Obama from Pamela Anderson

Recommended reading to Mr. President Elect Obama from Pamela Anderson-:
*The Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein
*Crimes Against Nature by Robert Kennedy
Dear Mr. Obama:
My thoughts/hopeful ideas-:
-Free Leonard Peltier- This injustice is just breeding Hate and discrimination. It would be very meaning ful to the Native American people and all of us ho have watched and been saddened by a broken system
(There are too many people in jail that don’t need to be there-it IS a broken system- that enrages more people than it helps) - not saying that there aren’t people who need to be jailed while determining their fate- but Jail should be a holding cell for justice and not a lifelong waste of taxpayers money to run a spa for criminals-how does this improve society? Especially when there are real threats to our most precious citizens -our children- in most cases child molesters are walking free. Government must Castrate every molester-or potential molester- error on the safe side- if any child pornography is found in anyone’s possession-or anyone creating such atrocities-or if any child Is brave enough to come forward (at any young age to bring attention to a potential molester- listen) they need to be taken very seriously and see that justice is served-The abuse is way worse than any trial could be- our children need more protection and justice seen. It needs to be PREVENTED not just punished.
I think we should Legalize Marijuana, tax and monitor -farm Hemp etc-this would make our borders less corrupt and then I think eventually this will be more secure option and save children in the long run – we should be able to farm Hemp in America- it’s just silly— it would create jobs- and be good for environment.
Bring our Troops home safely- Stop the killing and work with Veterans to secure a peaceful way world wide-using their 1st hand wisdom lovingly across all borders together. It is not a war Economy anymore- obviously-
Stop all these garbage, wasteful and ineffective ,ancient animal tests (from 80 years ago?)- create a REAL working dedicated and active group of people assigned to this issue- science is suppose to be progressive? We need to get with it- update like Europe has – it’s an embarrassment and nobody wishes this senseless cruelty to go on.
Please get rid of this private insurance and private health care system- it’s corrupt and doesn’t work-
Government should take over both those areas- supplying secure government jobs where people are dedicated to their job and it is a proven system- Canada etc- supplying proper insurance to everyone – It’s much easier and government should supply these services for the taxes we pay- we would all be protected- pharmaceuticals would be affordable- to those that need it/especially our elderly- see that everyone has car insurance (there should not be an uninsured driver on the road) and health insurance- the same for everyone- isn’t this what we pay taxes for?
Promote vegetarianism-which would help end world hunger- crack down on factory farming that is killing the environment and slaughtering so many animals- wastefully and carelessly and it’s unhealthy/and it’s just impractical- to think this is monitored/regulated effectively..
Please Shut down Guantanamo Bay-figure it out- make amends/stop torture- it’s time for peaceful solutions- and cooperation world wide sharing resources and protecting each other- education, missionary work- bring the world together help each other- with resources now- its considered a very small place- We are each other’s keeper no matter what side of the border we were born-nobody is less than.
And if people are hard working why cant they work and pay taxes in America- if they have no criminal record- why do we have illegal immigration it should be made easier for people to work here- all they want to do is work- some Americans sure have a sense of entitlement that’s unhealthy, unwise and selfish at times… Thank God it’s a new day!

oh... yea... weed and boobs.... ha... ha... - Zippo, on 11/20/2008, -5/+3Ideas, huh... is that what they're calling them these days?
- wedges, on 11/20/2008, -0/+21marijuana... welll, hemp... it would change the textile and paper industry overnight. instead of cutting down trees that take years and years to grow back, just farm hemp for paper and fabric that grows back year after year. it's much more environmentally friendly, and the quality is much better.
- aenima1, on 11/20/2008, -0/+12Well said. I say decriminalize possession, and make commercial hemp legal. Its a wonder crop with literally hundreds of uses. Plastics, textiles, Biofuel, paper and medicines are among some.
Henry Ford made a car out of hemp plastic.
We would no longer need to subsidize famers
We would save billions on the "war on drugs"
Police could spend time chasing real criminals
The jail population would decrease significantly, reducing taxes
It could be a taxable item
It can jump start the economy and create jobs
Its really a no-brainer...too bad so few have brains- tmcal, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1"We would save billions on the "war on drugs"
Police could spend time chasing real criminals"
Ha. Meanwhile in the real world....
Government agencies and police departments use drugs as a way to maintain and increase budgets. Without the excuse of a "war on drugs" there would be much less money for them to play with new toys.
It's the same reason we can't stop the military machine and it's the same reason that any time a new government agency is created, it will NEVER disappear. There is no such thing as a temporary government agency. - TheSkunkMonkey, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Hemp Plastics would be fought hard by companies that produce plastics from petroleum.
You think farmers would be willing to give up those subsidies real fast?
Without the War on Drugs we won't have an imaginary boogeyman to help inflate police funding to where they can afford fancy toys like military grade assault gear.
Police Unions will cry foul over their members actually having to do stuff, you know, like police work.
The prison industry would scream bloody murder and demand a bailout when you strip them of their cheap labor.
They would just find some other excuse to arrest and imprison people for light offenses to keep that cheap labor.
It's already a taxed item, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1937_Marijuana_Tax_Ac ... The problem is you get arrested for paying it!
Don't get me wrong, I am all for legalization/decriminalization but there are very powerful industries with deep pockets and snappy mouthpiece lobbyists to make sure they keep the status quo. Until that mechanism is defeated, this country will continue to persecute people over a ***** PLANT.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. - Genesis 1:29 - CRAZYNICEdubs, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Freedman's Bureau.
- tmcal, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1"We would save billions on the "war on drugs"
- aenima1, on 11/20/2008, -0/+12Well said. I say decriminalize possession, and make commercial hemp legal. Its a wonder crop with literally hundreds of uses. Plastics, textiles, Biofuel, paper and medicines are among some.
- Ljay90, on 11/20/2008, -5/+1I think Michelle Obama might have something to say about that.
- tusseyd, on 11/20/2008, -4/+9Dear Mr.
===> I've seen nuttier lists.- BradOFarrell, on 11/20/2008, -0/+4Didn't he already say he was planning on shutting down Guantanamo Bay?
- Atlas00, on 11/20/2008, -0/+5I thought the list was good until I saw "Promote vegetarianism". How exactly is limiting sources of food going to stop world hunger? This list doesn't read like something intelligently thought-out, it just strikes me as a collection of generic "hippy" ideas.
- purzzzell, on 11/20/2008, -1/+3b/c she's a PETA nutter.
- dse78759, on 11/20/2008, -1/+3Meat takes a lot of land to sustain.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veganism#Resources_an ... - uberchaoslord, on 11/20/2008, -1/+1Your link was interesting reading, but the chart showing sources of nutrition has "pulses" on it as a source of nutrition - WTF? Are we supposed to sustain ourselves from the energy of the sun or something? I think rather than advocating total veganism, we just need to advocate more-veggieism.
Oh and you have to believe CO2 causes global warming to then believe cows are causing global warming as well.
- BlacklabelSAR, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1My scroll wheel hates you.
- omgwtflawl, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Uh oh, did I just hear a "universal car insurance" plea?
- reaper527, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1"Government must Castrate every molester-or potential molester"
i wonder if she knows about the law that bobby jindal signed in louisiana. its too bad that on that long list, only what i quoted and legalizing weed are the good ideas. (she may be right on the immigration issue, depending on what she means. we should be making it easier to come into this country legally, but on the basis of everything else she said, i get the impression she means massive amnesty plans)
- VitriolAndAngst, on 11/20/2008, -9/+18Make fun all you want, but she is still out-thinking the Conservatives.
- bjornski, on 11/20/2008, -7/+5That's not too difficult.
The neighbors dog who keeps ***** in our yard does that.

- 83457, on 11/20/2008, -1/+9potential molester?
- ticonderoga321, on 11/21/2008, -0/+1Technically anyone could be a potential molester so we should all be castrated, according to Pamela
- AcidVision, on 11/20/2008, -0/+9well farming hemp would be a great idea. it is the most versatile crop after all.
- noclss2000, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1true, and it would help with the borders since marijuana would be legalized, no more smuggling. Not to mention the creation of tons of jobs a lot of people would be in line for. Maybe the people who refuse to get a job and collect government money while getting high everyday will find a job they'll actually go to.
- miriv365, on 11/20/2008, -3/+4Have you people seen close up pictures of her lately? Time has not been kind to her.... sorry, had to be said...

oh my god!!!!! - Expl0siv0, on 11/20/2008, -3/+2"It needs to be PREVENTED not just punished."
Okay but....how does cutting off someones balls AFTER the fact prevent it? Fear?- bjornski, on 11/20/2008, -0/+2If your buddy said "I ***** a 13 year old and they cut off my balls", would you do it?
- simonn, on 11/20/2008, -0/+1Probably laugh! Imagine that said in a high pitch falsetto voice.
