- basye, on 11/13/2008, -3/+25The Pandora app is a must.
- brbroman, on 11/13/2008, -2/+1Seconded, I use it more than the Ipod App.
- jerang, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2I prefer the last.fm app!
- llamarada, on 11/13/2008, -1/+2Too bad it doesn't work here in Chile...
"Dear Pandora Visitor,
We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative."
We have to use AOL Radio and Last.fm... :(
Oh, and ***** THE RIAA!!!!! - jaimequin, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Last.FM is my only option. Besides, Pandora only lets you skip 6 songs in an hour, wtf? and it only works in the US. Does Pandora provide you with Tour dates? Look into Last.fm, you might like it better.
- EH90, on 11/13/2008, -5/+11Jelly Car is pretty cool
- mark076h, on 11/13/2008, -12/+5I still have yet to pay for an iPhone application, and I'm not sure i ever will.........
- Snooker1985, on 11/13/2008, -4/+25thanks pcworld... your about 6 months late
- batTUrd, on 11/13/2008, -2/+17*you're
- chkdg8, on 11/13/2008, -1/+8Not only is PC World late as ***** but their list is horrendous. As far as I'm concerned, that list is missing and in no particular order:
Bloomberg (blows the stock app away)
Constitution (especially during these times of government corruption)
Remote (for all the lazy asses who don't want to get up)
facebook (best social app)
myspace (okay but a must)
Pandora FTW! (need I say more)
Twitterific (the free version is all you need)
BOA (a must for banking)
Shazam (never leave home without it)
Epocrates Rx (big pharma is invading my pocket)
AIM (awesome but it could use an update)
Yelp (found so many great restaurants)
Save Benjis (saved me a bunch of money on my car insurance)- reformation, on 11/13/2008, -10/+2Shazam - explain to me exactly when you are ever in a situation where you hear a song and either have no idea who its by, or its isn't announced both before and after its played?
- MacParrot, on 11/13/2008, -1/+4If you listen to more than top 40 there are thousands of artists and millions of songs from just the 50s and up. You actually remember all those?
- vw2005, on 11/13/2008, -5/+5Lammee .... Put some more effort in and create a proper list. There are tons of others!!
Twitterific, Fring, Wordpress Mobile, etc...- metapop, on 11/13/2008, -2/+1facebook and iphone are a perfect match
- huggybarrel, on 11/13/2008, -1/+5twinkle puts twitterific to shame
- nikki2300dk, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Yea, there are so many. Especially with some free apps that have non-free counterparts.
But I also think this is a well put together list.:)
- arijit57, on 11/13/2008, -5/+1I must Download it....
- metapop, on 11/13/2008, -11/+3this is an edit. also i'm drunk. also sometimes i hate this newfangled commenting system and its errors. anyone ever notice how some comments have a 1 or 0 then after you digg or bury it it reveals its true number? i hate that. please fix it, digg.
- dblfistz, on 11/13/2008, -8/+0Have you seen http://www.onetapporn.com .. this app is a must!!!!
- metapop, on 11/13/2008, -6/+1as if i need some douchebag at PC world to tell me what apps to download
GTFO PC WORLD - Jamified, on 11/13/2008, -3/+2ok so first of all there are way too many iphone app lists out there as it is, and second of all, this list sucks. there are plenty of other great free apps out there, in no way are these the best (besides pandora, which is the sh*t).
- metapop, on 11/13/2008, -2/+2this list really does suck, i'm amazed it reached front page. they couldn't even manage to put 6 THINGS ON ONE PAGE. I DESPISE PC WORLD.
- hoodratthangs, on 11/13/2008, -2/+4please spell iPhone correctly. the uppercase is painful
- andersonwill, on 11/13/2008, -2/+1In my opinion there are far better news application then the AP app
- bakingoven, on 11/13/2008, -5/+23 more great apps that are free.... Shazam, Facebook, Movies
- PoopOnPaul, on 11/13/2008, -1/+5"(Note: Apple's iPhone 2.0 software update is required to employ the Google Earth app.)"
...or...any third-party app at all? - homer420032003, on 11/13/2008, -2/+2"One Great Free Apple IPhone Download"
There fixed it for you. - logic6, on 11/13/2008, -2/+2Fring sucks.
- kotatsu, on 11/13/2008, -3/+7Erm.. Last FM? I use that all the time, it's fantastic.
- kotatsu, on 11/13/2008, -3/+1Someone dug me down for recommending Last FM? Wow, how retarded.
- JCred, on 11/13/2008, -5/+1fring is pretty cool.
- viserov, on 11/13/2008, -3/+5Check out Trace. Pretty fun game.
- hollismb, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Very fun game, and lots of gameplay for a free game too.
- bootup, on 11/13/2008, -12/+2I'm sick of hearing about Apple's products or stuff developed for Apple! There aren't any great Apple products. All Apple does is see something somebody else has done and copies/buys them. Better Audio players existed long before Apple dumped huge quantities onto the market and marketed them. The same can said for Apple's OS X. Allot of what Apple did was copy GNU/Linux applications and leave out the good stuff (features for instance-just look at Safari- it's a POS due to the UI). The only thing decent about it is its rendering engine taken from konqueror. Then what do they do to compete with Microsoft? They basically sell Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, etc. Even while they may not be the ones selling it they certainly get credit for creating the environment. Apple's not much different than Microsoft Windows. If you really want to 'think different' (I'd say think better) you got to go with something better-rather than be 'trendy' grow a brain people (most people are too brain-dead for me to believe they ever actually had one).
- MacParrot, on 11/13/2008, -0/+4Maybe you should lay off the caffeine and stop thinking of yourself as the smartest guy on the planet.
- NoozeHound, on 11/13/2008, -6/+2When are you people going to realise that the web > America?
You are all so small minded in the way you relate to Digg.
Or perhaps that's what Digg want. I hoped that with a new president you might become more outward loooking but it seesm you still can't look past your noses.- mustang30266, on 11/13/2008, -1/+2It's Digg.com not Digg.co.uk
- ivanov, on 11/13/2008, -0/+3Then it should be digg.com.us
- MacParrot, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1What? Obama took office already?
- Kazaki, on 11/13/2008, -0/+2Huh? Where did this come from?
- rickblank, on 11/13/2008, -0/+0No, Digg is big-minded in the way it relates to you.
- mustang30266, on 11/13/2008, -1/+2It's Digg.com not Digg.co.uk
- willynilly, on 11/13/2008, -3/+3Enough with this "smartphone" *****. It's a phone. The "smartphone" term was invented as an excuse for the abysmal design blunders plaguing the vast majority of phones. Motorola, for example, has for years peddled phones with 32 MB of memory but lacking the functionality of an 8 MB Palm device of a decade ago. What kind of idiocy leads a vendor to implement contacts that lack ADDRESSES? No task lists. No memos. Just plain stupid.
- stephenamp, on 11/13/2008, -0/+4Here are the apps they recommend (not even on one page):
AP Mobile News App
Fring
SportsTap
i.TV
Google Earth
Pandora
Not the most comprehensive list but might be useful for some. - cheapotheclown, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Ocarina... well, it's almost free. tons of fun.
- terrina, on 11/13/2008, -1/+0Enough with this "smartphone" *****. It's a phone. The "smartphone" term was invented as an excuse for the abysmal design blunders plaguing the vast majority of phones

Your DUI- MacParrot, on 11/13/2008, -1/+1um...while I usually take issue with some of Willy's rants, at least he knows how to use the reply button.
- dalesmatrix, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1Mine would be:
ABC Contacts lite
YouNote
facebook
shovel
NewsNetWire
A paid app I think deserves more airtime is HanDBase, a sweet little DB app for making your own database. - kishosingh, on 11/13/2008, -0/+1I am going to download it now : Fring: Free VoIP, Chat for iPhone. Here is also mentioned about Google Earth : http://iphonetouchscreen.wordpress.com/. The features from where I can download?

- rickblank, on 11/13/2008, -1/+0Is this list new? I've had all of these for a while - and deleted a couple for being junk.
