- RaysinX, on 11/21/2008, -0/+3This type of thing offers an interesting idea... Could we have an option to submit to "breaking news" so if something is immensely important (for example a former president passing away) it gets sent to people who monitor the site to make it immediately front page even if it has very few diggs?
Of course if this was abused it would become useless and only for VERY important things- 47f0, on 11/21/2008, -0/+6Of course it would never be abused on Digg.
- dnachoh, on 11/21/2008, -5/+41One witness said Mukasey, 67, collapsed suddenly and unexpectedly, near the end of his speech defending the Bush administration's war-on-terrorism policies to a conservative legal group.
Mukasey's brain: "No Michael, I can't do this anymore. It's just too much. This has been a long time coming, but, I'm leaving you."
[Door slams] - zenuflect, on 11/21/2008, -4/+2Allow me to form a conspiracist style premise just for my own amusement if not anyone else's.
So, BushCo slipped him a little something with the idea that either:
he buys it and they do a recess appointment
He buys it and they promote a loyal follower from within
He is suitably cowed.
All so that the Justice department is off the field for their going out of office last gasp rape of the nation.

They're liberal wackos whose lives are so filled with hate and intolerance that they're incapable of seeing beyond their own political ideology.- anachronaut, on 11/21/2008, -2/+3Surely you can't be serious. Being a social liberal and fiscal conservative, I'm somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum, and from where I'm sitting the extreme "conservatives" in this country are consistently more hypocritical, nasty, ignorant and intolerant than the extreme "liberals". I'm not saying that the other side is blameless, because they most definitely aren't -- they're just not as consistently bad. What you're doing is called "psychological projection", and it's extremely prevalent among the far right.
There are several damn good reasons I refuse to vote Republican even though I'm extremely conservative fiscally. The GOP and its supporters would do well to learn some lessons from the painful drubbing they took during this election cycle. - JimmySpaza, on 11/21/2008, -4/+1@anachronaut

"Being a social liberal and fiscal conservative, I'm somewhere in the middle of the political spectrum, and from where I'm sitting the extreme "conservatives" in this country are consistently more hypocritical, nasty, ignorant and intolerant than the extreme "liberals"."
Maybe you haven't been out to California or visited Thinkprogress, Huffington Post, or other liberal websites lately.

Whatever, dude.
"There are several damn good reasons I refuse to vote Republican even though I'm extremely conservative fiscally."
Who said anything about Republicans? This is all about many Democrat supporters, particularly liberals, being hypocrites and hate-filled.
"The GOP and its supporters would do well to learn some lessons from the painful drubbing they took during this election cycle."
True. I didn't vote Republican this time either. Got tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. - Calcularius, on 11/22/2008, -0/+3Torturing and killing people is not a "political ideology."

- zip000, on 11/21/2008, -0/+2Yeah, a lot of people are wishing him dead. Or at least, say they are wishing him dead...which may be the same thing.
I just don't get this attitude. I don't wish anyone physical harm. There are people that I hope get disgraced, get incarcerated, etc., but I don't want anyone to die.
I suppose that there may be a morally ambiguous place where you admit that someone's death may benefit the world or the country or the group, but still, I don't WANT that person to die or wish them dead.
