- aforsberg, on 11/28/2008, -2/+6What do they care? They still get outrageous sums of money.
- replaysMike, on 11/28/2008, -0/+44w00t - old people get away with pirating again!
- seldon452, on 11/28/2008, -0/+6This reminds me of the Seinfeld where uncle leo steals books.
Its the same one where George takes a book into the bathroom and it gets flagged.
Classic. - houndeyex, on 11/28/2008, -2/+2When you're old you might as well steal *****. When accused you can always cop out and say, "What? I'm old."
- palehorse864, on 11/29/2008, -0/+1Hello?

- coldkill3r, on 11/28/2008, -7/+1Atari is probably rolling in cash, although I didn't like Race 07 at all.
Rapidshare is becoming more of a pain in the ass lately. I would switch to torrents but I don't really know how to do it safely.- seldon452, on 11/28/2008, -1/+4http://letmegooglethatforyou.com/?q=how+to+torrent
- coldkill3r, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1I how to download a torrent, I just don't know how to do it safely. I read that pg2 is useless, so I don't know what to do.
- Roryking, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1@Coldkill3r
Best advice? Go ahead and use PeerGuardian, set it to update DAILY (default is every 2 days) and set it to use one of the "Paranoid" filters in addition to the default lists.
Then use a program like Deluge or Azureus that lets you import a list directly in to the program, and set it to use the paranoid list.
Stick to well known trackers like The Pirate Bay.
There's no guarantees, but at the same time, the odds of the FBI breaking down your door as soon as you click a torrent file could be described as "slim." - Elranzer, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2"Stick to well known trackers like The Pirate Bay."
Actually, trackers like TPB are the ones that are the most watched. Especially since it's public.
You're better off with a faster tracker like Demonoid or Mininova.
- coldkill3r, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Wow, I have no idea what the second part I wrote had to do with the article at all...
Forget that you read anything...

- kerouac906, on 11/28/2008, -1/+25The game in question: PONG
- CarlSD, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Heck, is Atari still operating? I thought they closed down years ago?
Anyway... I still think the only decent Atari games were their arcade games from the late 70's and early 80's - Breakout/Super Breakout, Lunar Lander, Asteroids, Missile Command, Centipede/Millipede, Tempest, etc., etc.
Got them all - and many more - on the MAME emulator. Are they coming after me too? Considering all the money I spent on them in the arcades over a quarter of a century ago I reckon I'm entitled to a few free games... :-)- Elranzer, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3They're really just Infogrammes, who bought up the old Atari just so they could use the name.
- CarlSD, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Heck, is Atari still operating? I thought they closed down years ago?
- cos5000, on 11/28/2008, -2/+7Do what you want 'cause a pirate is free!
- djfonz, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2You are a pirate! Yarr harrr
- Defiant001, on 11/28/2008, -0/+5fiddle de dee!
- DrLeePhD, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2being a pirate is alright to be!
- smacksaw, on 11/28/2008, -0/+4That digiprotect thing is way wrong. It's like handing out free samples at a store and then the store tries to arrest you for theft.
- mithrasinvictus, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2If they uploaded the content to the network themselves i can't see how that could hold up in count.
- thealsir, on 11/28/2008, -0/+3Wish the *AA had the same amount of sense...
- tr0j, on 11/28/2008, -1/+5A game about killing pirates and burning witches has been cancelled?
Puritans Of Penzance? An fps where you are armed only with a pitchfork and a coracle.
Outrageous. - Skooma714, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1Test Drive Unlimited?
You needed an account with them to get the full experience anyway. - ahtu, on 11/28/2008, -2/+4Wait what, Atari has made games after the 70's?
- crushfan, on 11/28/2008, -0/+2Good.
- retawd, on 11/28/2008, -6/+2Witch hunt? Really? You are saying that piracy does not exist and it is just an excuse for mass hysteria? I've got 2.5TB of games, music, movies and TV shows that would convince you otherwise.
- Murdats, on 11/28/2008, -0/+8it is a witch hunt because their data gathering methods amount to little more then pointing their finger at someone and saying "you, you there are a pirate and I demand you give me your money"
and because piracy is rampant because of still existing bad business models half they time they will be right anyway, after all when over half a population engages in someone you are going to have a greater then 50% success rate with random selection- retawd, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1My point was, witchcraft WAS NOT rampant. It was illusory. Video game piracy DOES ACTUALLY exist in great numbers and has been proven.

- kirado4, on 11/28/2008, -1/+1Hmm just as I thought.. copyright holders are seeding their own content onto bittorrent to they can catch you downloading it..
- kirado4, on 11/28/2008, -4/+1Oh and ***** you Atari.. you joined the boycott *****
- ThugThrasher, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1Shouldn't they have joined the boycott ***** when they STARTED these actions?
And now that they have stopped, as long as they don't start up other anti-piracy shenanigans, shouldn't they come OFF the boycott *****-list?
Isn't the point of a boycott to get someone to take an action/stop taking an action (such as atari stopping it's "anti-piracy witch-hunt") and once the action is taken, the boycott should stop?
Or maybe you're just boycotting because you think it's cool.
- ThugThrasher, on 11/28/2008, -0/+1Shouldn't they have joined the boycott ***** when they STARTED these actions?
- DirtyDiggDog, on 11/28/2008, -1/+5I don't mind companies going after people for pirating, but these shady practices in doing so have got to stop.
- CdnBacon, on 11/28/2008, -1/+0Why don't they just send a letter to the offender asking to pay the price of the damn game.. I'm sure if someone got busted and received this letter, they would pay it wouldn't cause ill feelings from the general public
- Yage2006, on 11/29/2008, -0/+1Hey atari makers of crap if your sale numbers are dropping its not the piracy.
