- GoldenGlovez, on 11/22/2008, -5/+1I can not wait till I leave for Tokyo in march! Great set but these pictures did not help my anticipation at all...
- russ3, on 11/22/2008, -6/+9I would go insane under a red sky. How is their murder rate not higher?
- tmcal, on 11/22/2008, -2/+3vending machines sell whiskey.
That, and the number of awesomely hot women you see on a daily basis. You barely notice the neon.- jawagas, on 11/22/2008, -1/+2Russ&tmcal comments with these pics just described Japan as the single greatest funhouse boose-bash hybrid of a city in the world.
Yes, it sounds lovely.

- Mpwns, on 11/22/2008, -1/+2can they fit anymore ads? (japan not the site)
- zforrester, on 11/22/2008, -0/+3This just in: Cities are Bright.
- antlerboy, on 11/22/2008, -0/+8reminds me of time square and time square makes my head hurt. its all wonderful at first, but the constant bombardment of big flashy signs all trying to sell you carp you dont need really makes you want to escape to a nice quite park or something. japanese gardens > japanese neon signs
- titleistprov1x, on 11/22/2008, -0/+6I hate when people try to sell me carp.
- intro211, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2exactly ... when i first moved to japan i was amazed ... now the lights are stressing the ***** out of me...
- DeFex, on 11/22/2008, -3/+2lol @ popeye
I was hoping to see Mr sparkle there. - lead2thehead, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1At first I thought it was cool but then I realized it was millions of advertisements.
- Feep, on 11/22/2008, -1/+5That's Shibuya's famed Scramble Crossing in the first shot, which everyone should visit once. And while the signs are great, I found myself gawking at less neon and more hot Japanese women. Of which there are plenty.
- Kaystar87, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2There's something so alluring and thrilling about Japan in general, at least coming from someone who lives in Tennessee on a farm. It's exciting and fast paced looking, I don't normally party, but I think I could stay up all night drinking there :) Japan's cities are so cool and vibrant, it's just too bad everything there is so expensive.
- Roobix, on 11/22/2008, -0/+3Hello light pollution! Sorry to be a downer but as beautiful as this is, its a huge waste of energy.
Aaaaand here come the negative diggs. Why do I have to be such a spoilsport? - scot333, on 11/22/2008, -1/+2There is a picture of a building that looks like a cylinder and has the numbers "109" at the top of it. Its some kind of fashion clothing store. I stepped in there for a sec and it was filled with the hottest japanese girls I've ever seen. They're all totally decked out. it was awesome.
- Mujokan, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2That's the "Shibuya109" building. It's named 109 as a pun on the name of the owners, 東急グループ, Tokyu Group (as they spell it in non-standard romanization), basically a railway company that diversified into real estate and other stuff. You can pronounce 10 as "tou" and 9 as "kyuu".
If you take the right-hand road you can see in the photo, walk down to the first corner, take a left and walk over the hill, then cut through Tokyo University campus, you come to where I used to live. Too bad I had to leave...

- idontdigg, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2the sky obviously isn't red to the human eye, the photographer used a much longer exposure on it to give it that look
- Coolkid11, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2If this happened in the United States, many of you pricks would comment about what a waste of resources it is.
- acparks1, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2dug for Walicka
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1070/1372890067_712 ... - gullevek, on 11/22/2008, -0/+2I just stared at the ads yesterday night. Really cool if you see this the first time. But actually Shibuya is kinda boring ...
