- Treshnell, on 12/02/2008, -1/+2I wouldn't be surprised to see (fairly soon) an OS/PC designed fully around using the internet for the majority of the 'traditional' desktop apps. We've been moving in that direction with things like netbooks and Google Docs.
However, I think we'll need a stronger internet architecture to move completely away from dekstop PCs. Using gaming as an example, Steam is a step in the direction of the future of PC gaming: access to your games through your account from anywhere.- wastern, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Its already been done with gOS. - m0zzie, on 12/02/2008, -1/+4I'm unsure why, but to this day AJAX still fascinates me.. when I think back to just a few years ago, a lot of the things we see (well technically it's the things we don't see) done by AJAX now, back then required full page reloads and a whole lot more bandwidth.

- Endpoint, on 12/02/2008, -0/+1Netvibes is great; the UWA (Universal Widget API) they let you build new widgets with is pretty decent too.. allowing you to deploy your widget on Netvibes, iGoogle, iPhone, MAX OSX, Vista, etc.
